The Portuguese media is today full of stories on the future of Sporting midfielder Matheus Nunes.
With manager Ruben Amorim being asked in a press conference on Sunday regarding the future of the 23-year-old, many outlets now feature his quotes, and some of them even bring some new information on the player.
And as O Jogo writes about Nunes, they point out that Tottenham Hotspur are one of the clubs who’ve been interest in his signing.
The newspaper starts by pointing out all the English clubs who’ve been chasing the midfielder, and then claims Spurs have ‘already enquired’ to know more about the conditions for his transfer.
“That’s like the other players, it’s a part of Hugo Viana and the president. I know there have already been proposals, even in January, it’s part of our daily life, it’s a good sign,” said Amorim.
According to O Jogo’s information, Sporting have already set a price to sell Nunes to Tottenham or any other club this summer, and that’s of ‘at least €40m’ plus performance bonuses.
That’s said to be double of what he was worth last summer, and considering the many Premier League clubs who’ve been interested in him, Tottenham better be aware that the Lions are unlikely to back down on their demands, making Fabio Paratici’s job potentially more difficult if he is to gift the player to Antonio Conte.
