Nabil Bentaleb L'Equipe August 24thFrench newspaper L’Equipe report in their Wednesday edition that Schalke and Tottenham Hotspur held positive transfer talks on Tuesday.

L’Equipe said the two clubs came to an agreement over Nabil Bentaleb, which would see the Algerian leave Spurs for a year on loan in the Bundesliga. That loan could then be made permanent a year from now.

At the same time, Schalke have been trying to agree a deal for Benjamin Stambouli. The former Tottenham midfielder is surplus to requirements at PSG, and a deal of around €8m was being discussed.

The French newspaper say that Stambouli has also been in talks with other clubs, and it seems everyone involved has been taking part in parallel negotiations over the past few days, all making sure they have a back-up option.

Le Parisien report that PSG and Schalke have agreed an €8m to €10m transfer deal for Stambouli. Reports in Germany earlier this week stated that Schalke were looking to get one midfielder on loan and one on a permanent deal, they may well have already sorted that.
