On Sunday, website Calcio Mercato said Tottenham Hotspur are one of the clubs who are interested in the Porto starlet Fabio Silva.
It’s been claimed Spurs see the youngster as the right player to fill Harry Kane’s place in the team in the longer term, even though Daniel Levy isn’t thought to be the type to spend a lot on a 17-year-old.
The story also claimed that Juventus have been keeping an eye on the attacker for a while, and are currently ‘studying’ the signing.
The Portuguese press reacts to these rumours today, and they take Tottenham’s interest totally different to the Old Lady’s.
Newspaper O Jogo writes that they knew Juventus had been following the teenager for a long time, but the chase from the London side is something ‘absolutely new’.
That’s why they have nothing to add on this case, and will probably take a couple of days until coming up with new information.
Meanwhile, newspaper Record recalls that Fabio Silva is protected by a release clause of €125m, and have the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid are going after him as well.
