Barcelona have reached a ‘total agreement’ with Wolverhampton Wanderers for Adama Traoré to return to the Nou Camp this month.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who say the Catalan giants have ‘closed the deal’ for their former academy player.
They report that Barcelona, in agreement with new manager Xavi, have chosen Traoré to bolster their squad as they look to add attacking players and cover for the likely departure of Ousmane Dembele.
Reports earlier today stated that the two club were negotiating a deal for the Spaniard, but it seems things have now advanced.
Mundo state that they have ‘closed the deal’ with Wolves for the winger to return to the Nou Camp on loan until the end of the season, at which point they will discuss a permanent transfer and whatever needs to be paid to achieve that.
Traoré is ‘delighted to be back’ and has accepted the need to reduce his wages so that Barcelona can add him to their squad.
He believes it is a ‘great opportunity’ for him to make his return to the club where he developed as a youngster and put himself in the spotlight for Luis Enrique’s Spain squad.
The deal has been brokered by Jorge Mendes, who has been Traoré’s official representative since last week and was at the Ciutat Esportiva to discuss a return on Monday.
That led to Barcelona ‘outlining the operation’ with Wolves this morning, and after all options were evaluated, they’ve settled on a loan deal, which should be finalised post-haste.
