Radu Drăgușin’s agent Florin Manea has told Romania’s iAM Sport that he’s not held talks with Manchester United for the Genoa star’s potential transfer.
On Thursday, ProSport reported the Red Devils are preparing to make a significant effort to sign the 21-year-old. It was also said the talks are very advanced, likely for a deal in January.
The centre-back has impressed for the Serie A side since he joined them, initially on loan, from Juventus in 2022.
After playing a key part in helping the Italian club return to the top flight last season, he has extended his fine form into this season, attracting interest from several teams in the process.
When responding to claims of Manchester United’s desire to sign the player, his agent said he’s not surprised that his client could be considered by Erik ten Hag’s side.
“Manchester United is always Manchester United. It’s a top team, as a tradition, as everything. He is on several lists, I am not surprised that he would also be on Manchester United’s, I haven’t spoken to anyone from there yet, but there are several teams interested,” he said.
“For now, there is nothing concrete, let’s have a written offer or something, but I am in London, I will have meetings all week. He will probably move in the summer at the latest, I understand that Genoa also has some problems, they have to give some money to the state.”
With several clubs keeping close tabs on the player, Genoa are looking to extend his deal beyond 2027. The representative has revealed he’ll hold talks with the Italian club later this month and insisted there won’t be a renewal without an inclusion of a €30m clause.
“At the moment I haven’t signed the contract extension, I’m going to the Juventus match on the 15th and we’ll talk then. That’s what I want to ask them [€30m clause], yes,” Manea explained.
Drăgușin’s agent, who has been hyping the transfer situation for months, also believes his client could receive “two written offers” before Genoa’s clash against Juventus on December 15th.
