A ‘Top Secret’ report from Mundo Deportivo claims Bayern Munich, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain have ‘knocked on’ Marc-André ter Stegen’s door.
Manuel Neuer will turn 34 next March and his contract at Bayern expires in 2021, which is why the Bundesliga winners are said to be looking to sign the Barcelona goalkeeper.
Uli Hoeneß retired as Bayern president last month and the changes in management saw former player Oliver Kahn return to the club as a board member.
It’s claimed Kahn is one of the great admirers of Ter Stegen and sees the La Liga winners star as a perfect candidate to replace Neuer at the Allianz Arena. Bayern will need in excess of €100m to sign the stopper.
Juve are looking for a successor for 41-year-old Gianluigi Buffon and have identified the Germany international as a target.
PSG signed 33-year-old Keylor Navas from Real Madrid last summer and although they don’t have an urgency for a new goalkeeper, they are still keeping an eye on the Barca player.
Despite this, the Ligue 1 champions have contacted Ter Stegen’s surroundings to know firsthand if the keeper is willing to leave the Camp Nou.
Ter Stegen has a €180m buyout clause and Barca’s idea is to sit down with him in 2020 to renew his contract, which currently runs down in 2022.
His idea is to sign a long-term deal with the Spanish champions, but for that to happen, the custodian asks his employer to build a competitive team.
