A Barcelona committee is expected to approve the club’s 2019/20 away kit design at a Saturday meeting.
Mundo Deportivo have a mock up of the design in their Thursday edition, under the ‘Top Secret’ column.
Nike have come up with a kit similar to previous Barcelona efforts, which is the plan they’ve been working on for several away kits at the Camp Nou. It will be yellow, although the Catalan newspaper makes sure to point out it won’t be illuminous yellow, more subtle.
So less YELLOW, more yellow.
The kit is similar to one Barcelona worn in the 1970s, but the stipe will go the opposite way, right to left diagonal instead of left to right.
Similar away kits, but with vertical Barcelona stripes, have been used in 1980 and also 2008/09.Mundo Deportivo points out the design isn’t too different to away kits Nike have produced for Manchester City and AS Roma in recent years, however, this certainly isn’t a straight copy like the brand have done with some other clubs.
