Chelsea are continuing to be one of the most active Premier League clubs in the summer window, as they hope to build a more competitive squad for the coming season.

New manager Enzo Maresca will be aiming for Champions League qualification so a big improvement will be needed on the last campaign.

Earlier today we covered claims from Spain that Chelsea were seriously moving forward with a deal for Samu Omorodion and that an agreement with Atletico Madrid could be close.

The earlier reports suggested Aletico could then use the money to sign Conor Gallagher from Chelsea, although it was made clear the transfers wouldn’t be linked.

El Chiringuito now report the player is negotiating his personal terms with Chelsea and could sign a seven year contract with the club, his wages could gradually increase over the period of that deal.

Chelsea are said to have offered €43m to Atletico and journalist Marcos Benito is quoted as saying: “Tonight everything could be done.”

Samu Omorodion spent last season on loan at Deportivo Alaves, scoring nine goals in 36 matches.
