When it was made clear that Paul Pogba was going to leave Manchester United on a free, it was widely expected that he would sign for Juventus.
That’s exactly what the France international has done, and while many had anticipated everything to go smoothly back at his old club, that hasn’t been the case.
The former Manchester United midfielder has spent most of his time there injured, and is now expected to miss the next eight weeks due to a knee problem, which he has since been operated on.
That has put his spot at the World Cup in Qatar in jeopardy, and while that would be enough to make anyone unhappy, he’s also had to deal with very public family issues.
Fabio Cannavaro, who held an interview with Canal+, relayed by Football365 in France, was asked about the Juventus midfielder, who simply hasn’t found the joy he was expecting by leaving Manchester United.
He said: “A few weeks ago, I said that Paul Pogba cared more about his haircuts than his game. I was able to speak to him since then. He told me he wasn’t happy, and when a footballer isn’t happy, it affects him in every area.”
While staying at Manchester United certainly wouldn’t have guaranteed him happiness, it’s fair to say most, including the player himself, didn’t expect the months following his Old Trafford exit to go the way they have done.
