Every day until Thursday there’s going to be headlines around the European sport media reading ‘today is the day’ in some form or another.

With the Premier League incoming window closing on Thursday at 5pm, the impact is felt for clubs around European football. Turin newspaper Tuttosport once again focuses on how it impacts them, and Joao Cancelo is one of the major reasons.

They have a headline on Monday reading: ‘Cancelo-Danilo, Juve to the bitter end: today is the day’

There’s a lot of confidence that a swap deal featuring Danilo and Cancelo is now close to being done. Indeed, Tuttosport say that as long as there’s no unexpected twists right at the end, announcements for both deals are expected.

It’s explained Juventus director Fabio Paratici was at Wembley yesterday and ‘rooted for City’, feeling it would help the relationship.

Tuttosport believe talks continued and were very positive, making it clear it’s their own information as they say several steps forward have been taken and the ‘white smoke’ could even come today.

Manchester City would be paying a fee on top, with Cancelo valued more highly than Danilo.
