Since being unveiled as a Sevilla signing, Tottenham Hotspur winger Alejo Veliz has making it very clear that he’s happy to make the move.

The latest interview given by the Argentine player was to the La Liga side’s official website, and he actually said something interesting about his connection with the club.

Veliz revealed that before joining Tottenham, Sevilla had been in negotiations for him, and that generated some feelings for the Spanish side.

“Before coming to England there had already been talks with Sevilla. Rosario Central then decided Tottenham, but there was already that link, I had seen videos of Sevilla and the fact that this has come up is a very nice step for me,” said Veliz.

The youngster also talked about the conversation he had with Ange Postecoglou about the loan, insisting the coach was supportive.

“(He told me) to take advantage of this opportunity at a huge club and to give my all to try to get as many minutes as possible. After that, time will tell.”

Tottenham spent €15m to sign Veliz from Rosario Central last summer. He struggled to get playing time in his first season in England, though, with only 45 minutes on the pitch in eight appearances.

Postecoglou clearly decided the youngster deserved to get some more experience elsewhere, and playing in La Liga could definitely be a good opportunity for him. Now it’s up to the 20-year-old to leave a good impression and show he deserves a place in Tottenham’s squad next season.
