As Italian clubs continue their battle for the signing of Tiemoué Bakayoko from Chelsea, outlet Calciomercato.it brings the latest on the situation.
According to their update today, there are a few clubs who’ve been chasing the midfielder lately.
One of them were Lyon, who tried to sign Bakayoko on a loan deal with an option to buy. However, their pursuit ‘did not take off’, and seem to be no longer an option.
Then there are three Serie A sides who seem to still be in the race. These are Juventus, Milan and Napoli.
The Rossoneri, who already had Bakayoko on loan in the 2018/19 season, seem to have an advantage, since Calciomercato.it says the player already gave an approval to a second spell at the club.
Still, the website doesn’t make it clear who’s leading the race for him.
Even though his contract with Chelsea expires next summer, the Blues have an option to extend his contract for another year, and that could make a new loan possible.
With the Stamford Bridge side not giving the player a shirt number this season, there’s strong confidence he’ll be leaving the club once again, but where remains the question we all want answered.
