Following Fernandinho’s announcement saying he’s likely to leave Manchester City at the end of the season, the Brazilian media have already started finding out which clubs are interested in signing him.
Now on Globo Esporte, journalist Nadja Mauad came up with a few details about the chase for the 36-year-old.
She claims that Corinthians, Botafogo and Flamengo are the sides who have already made approaches ahead of a summer move.
However, even though those clubs may sound appealing, the Manchester City player actually gives his priority to his former side Athletico Paranaense.
It’s said it’s ‘different’ in case the club go for him, because his family want him there as well.
It’s pointed out that Fernandinho caught everyone by surprise with his statement, and his staff won’t speak to anyone about his future for now, as the player must be focused on the remaining months of the season.
The player’s contract with Manchester City expires in the summer, so he’ll be able to make the move for free.
That’s why the opportunity is so appealing for the Brazilian clubs.
