Every now and again, often when a manager at an attractive club is in danger of losing his job, Thomas Frank appears and does a rash of media interviews.
During those he explains how happy he has been, and still is, at Brentford and then makes sure to leave a couple of lines which somewhat throw his future open.
It’s now happened multiple times so is either an almighty coincidence, or it’s the Brentford manager putting himself out there when he sees an opportunity.
Some previous claims have stated Manchester United, the club being linked at the moment, would need to pay €20m to take the manager away from Brentford.
Denmark’s Bold now question this, and say the amount would actually be 80-90m Danish Krone, around £9-10m.
Bold also say, according to their own information, ‘there has been contact between Manchester United representatives and the Thomas Frank camp over the summer about the manager’s job.’
However, they explain there hasn’t been contact ‘in recent weeks’.
That’s perhaps why Thomas Frank has been popping up in multiple media interviews in recent days, all seemingly with the aim of making sure Manchester United and others haven’t forgotten about him.
And perhaps why it’s being made clear, from a Danish source, that the Brentford manager wouldn’t be as costly as some think.
