Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford has set his sights on joining Barcelona this summer.

Earlier this week, Sport stated the La Liga winners aren’t in a rush and urged the 27-year-old to be patient to secure a dream move to the Camp Nou.

It’s well known Rashford isn’t part of Ruben Amorim’s plans, but Manchester United won’t let him leave cheaply. That’s according to Saturday’s edition of AS, who state they have set a €48m price.

The forward has told his other suitors that his priority is to join the Catalan club and he’s willing to wait for them.

Barcelona had initially kept him on hold as they had been focusing on Nico Williams and Luis Díaz. The Spaniard extended his contract with Athletic, while the deal to take the 28-year-old away from Liverpool is complicated.

Rashford isn’t the favourite target for Barca sporting director Deco as he preferred Díaz and Williams. The Reds are reluctant to sanction a sale and Barca’s financial constraints would make it even more challenging. These developments have left Deco with limited options for now.

The newspaper states the Spanish champions believe it’s ‘much simpler’ to sign Rashford than Díaz because he’s cheaper and unlike Liverpool, the Red Devils want to part ways with him.

Rashford’s brother, Dwaine Maynard, is his agent, but AS state Xavi Hernández’s agent Arturo Canales is acting as an intermediary. He’s been in contact with Barca for weeks and has been working to negotiate a move for the England international.
