Earlier today, we covered claims from Italy which said Napoli are demanding at least €50m for midfielder Amadou Diawara.

Website Calcio Mercato claimed Wolves, via Jorge Mendes, have very recently made an approach to know the conditions of a deal, as they were already aware of the player’s wish to move to the Premier League.

Now today, with great timing, journalist Marco Giordano had his take on the situation on Radio CRC, and made some very similar comments on Napoli’s stance.

He claims Napoli know €50m is a high amount, but they’re demanding that much because their wish is still to count on the player for the future.

But it’s stated Diawara’s staff want him to leave, and will be asking for a January sale.

Calcio Mercato had reported Milan’s interest in getting a loan with a buying option, but now Giordano claims that this possibility is ruled out, as Napoli would only let the player go on a permanent transfer.

Covering Giodani’s quotes, website Calcio Napoli 24 points out that they have already reported a Premier League interest on the player. That was from Wolves, who made contact with Diawara’s agents in late October.

So everything seems to be going on Wolves’ side, at least in case the club have €50m to spend on Diawara in January.
