Chelsea loanee Nathan is not having a perfect start in his spell at Atlético-MG in Brazil.
Although the player started the last four games for the club, website UOL claims that he should now be benched due to his unsatisfactory form.
Based on stats, the website proves that the player hasn’t been as creative as his teammates who have been fighting for the same position.
With five appearances in the Brazilian league so far, the Chelsea loanee is still to participate directly in a goal by scoring or making an assist.
Manager Thiago Larghi has recently spoken about Nathan, and claimed that he will need a period of adaptation: “We were giving Nathan a chance to start the games, because it’s always difficult for the player to come in from abroad and adapt quickly. He shows that he has quality, he’s a serious and hardworking player, but he’s young, he has that oscillation.”
Signed from Atlético-PR back in 2015, this is the first time Nathan is loaned back to his home country. He had previously been sent to Vitesse, Amiens and Belenenses.
With a contract running until 2019, the 22-year-old is still to make his debut for Chelsea.
