Manchester United midfielder Casemiro is this month on the cover of Placar, the most traditional sports magazine in Brazil.

Besides featuring a long interview with him in their printed edition, they also released some of their chat on Youtube, with separate videos about each subject.

One of them is about Casemiro’s arrival at Manchester United and the way he managed to have such a quick adaptation at the club, resulting in receiving big affection from fans.

The midfielder explains he found the ideal environment at Old Trafford, saying the club, squad and fans made him feel at home since joining last summer.

“Well, of course when you leave Real Madrid and come to Manchester United, of course you want affection, you want to mark an era with titles, with great games, with victories. But I didn’t imagine it would be such a quick affection,” Casemiro told Placar.

“Well, I think always with great humility, but always with work on the pitch. Of course there is respect for my other teammates who are always helping me, but I think it was a very good mix.

“Mainly from the fans together with the club’s employees, with the club’s players. So, without a doubt, for me it’s been a very good mix and, above all, it’s been very important for my adaptation. Both the affection outside and the affection inside the club is also important to me. And consequently things are going well for me.”

Casemiro also praised Manchester United for the way they prepared for his arrival, claiming that it was crucial for him not to miss Real Madrid, despite the long time he had spent in Spain.

“Well, one of the fundamental things that happened here was the club. The club has always been very affectionate with me since day one. From the first day I felt at home, I felt very loved inside the club. Even though it wasn’t easy. Well, I was at Real Madrid for 10 years. It’s 10 years of a career. So it wasn’t easy, but since the first day the club has been very affectionate with me, always making me very comfortable.”

Regarding the reasons he left Real Madrid for Manchester United, he says there was a deep belief he could still make the difference at a Premier League club, and wouldn’t make such move if not at his peak.

“There were several things that you end up putting on the scales. So speaking of reasons, of course I asked my family, of course this is important to talk about. They accepted right away, they said they would be willing to come, my wife, my family, my children too. Of course it’s very important to me too, their happiness is my happiness.

“If you are in two, three years, I don’t think I would leave. In three years I wouldn’t leave Real Madrid to go to another big one in Europe. The ambition of wanting to play in another league. The ambition of wanting to leverage another big club. Because we know that the greatness of Manchester United is huge. So that was one of the points.

“Another point without a doubt, I would say that one of the most important ones, which I have already mentioned, would be playing in the Premier League, the desire to play in the Premier League.”
