The Catalan media love teeing Real Madrid up for a fall and that looks like what Sport are doing over Mauricio Pochettino.
In their ‘confidential’ section it’s insinuated the Tottenham manager’s recent comments, when he didn’t completely rule out a move to Real Madrid, are some sort of sign.
Pochettino ‘is at ease in Tottenham, but his future seems to be in Madrid’ say Sport, giving an expectation that when the time comes for Zinedine Zidane to leave Real Madrid, the Argentine will be the one following him.
Sport then state ‘Of course, always remember that he’s in contract… and that they’ll request a transfer fee’.
That lines Florentino Perez up against Daniel Levy, and it would be no surprise that if Madrid did swoop, and Pochettino wanted to make the move to Spain, to see Tottenham change the landscape on manager transfers and extract a huge sum.
For the Catalan media, the idea of Perez being forced by Tottenham into paying a huge fee, or the Madrid president going into negotiations and failing to get his man, is very welcome.
