Super agent Mino Raiola has spoken to Greek website Sdna.Gr and confirmed Panathinaikos are interested in signing Leeds United’s Vurnon Anita in this transfer window.
Last week, we covered claims from Greece that Panathinaikos are interested in signing the 30 year old and that they are working hard to convince the player.
Raiola told Snda there’s a chance Anita could head to Greece this summer: “Yes, there’s a possibility for Panathinaikos to sign Vurnon Anita. We’ll see what happens.”
The Dutchman is expected to terminate his contract with Leeds United after returning from a loan spell with Williem II last season.
He is not expected to be a part of Marcelo Bielsa’s squad for next season and the Greek club are hoping they can sign him despite their poor financial status.
Sdna say Panathinaikos will force their financial limits to make this transfer happen and the club’s sporting director Nikos Dabizas is working hard to land the Leeds United man.
Anita is contracted to the Elland Road club until June 2020.
