Earlier this week, we covered part of Raul Jimenez’ interview with Fox Sports.
The Wolverhampton player has shared his controversial opinion on Mexican football transfers, saying clubs should make it easier for their stars to move to Europe.
Now there are a few more quotes out in the local media, this time with the striker talking about his adaptation to England and to the Premier League.
Although most Latin American players struggle when moving to the UK, especially with the language, Jimenez claims that he had no problems when signing for Wolves last summer.
“The adaptation to English football was mostly easy, because the English I do and I have many Portuguese teammates. I have the knowledge and then I had to show what I had to do on the pitch,” Jimenez told Fox Sports (via Record and Azteca Deportes).
The player has also explained the process of moving to Wolves, who had been just promoted to the Premier League.
“There is always that uncertainty when you change teams, how you will go to a newly promoted team that was champion in the Second Division, but the Premier League is always a higher level.”
Asked if the Premier League is ‘more intense’ than the others, he has no doubt about it: “Yes, much more, here you see every challenge, every foul and the referees acting as if nothing happened, if there is no blood, play. Yes, I have taken one or another kick”.
