Inter Millan’s Ivan Perišić continues to be linked with Manchester United more than 20 months after José Mourinho left Old Trafford.

The Red Devils were interested in the winger during the Mourinho era, but were unable to get a deal over the line.

United still maintain an interest in the 31-year-old, if a report from Fussball Transfers is to be believed.

The player is unlikely to have a future at the San Siro, and the ‘most likely scenario’ for him is to move to the Premier League.

It’s claimed ‘there is contact with Manchester United’, but it’s not clear if this is between Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side and the Croatian, or between United and Inter.

The Old Trafford club are in the market for an attacker, and Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho has been their number one target.

Manchester United are struggling to sign the England international, and should they miss out on him, the report states ‘Perišić could fill the void’.

Perišić was on loan at Bayern Munich last season and won the treble with the German champions. Hansi Flick’s side wanted to retain him, but they were not willing to pay the €15m requested by Inter.
