Viking FK’s Sebastian Sørlie Henriksen has publicly expressed his admiration and love for Newcastle United.
The 20-year-old came up through the ranks of Viking’s youth system and was loaned out to Egersunds IK last month. He has made 13 appearances in the league this season.
Today’s edition of Norwegian newspaper Aftenbladet has published an interview with the defender, and Henriksen revealed his desire to make a switch to Newcastle.
The centre-back is in his final year of contract and can change clubs as a free agent from 2023. It’s claimed the player is unsure what lies ahead, while his immediate focus is at Egersunds IK.
Viking sporting director Erik Nevland has admitted the club has not made a decision on his future so far.
The newspaper asked Henriksen about his ambitions for the future and that’s when he didn’t hesitate to mention the Magpies.
“The aim is to go as far as possible, and the big dream is Newcastle,” Henriksen said.
The defender’s Twitter profile has four retweets and two of them are about Newcastle United. Henriksen will have to step up further if his dream club are to consider him for their first team.
