Manchester United can attack the Premier League title next season if they give Ruben Amorim the players he needs to do it.
That’s according to Silvino, who saw something special in the Portuguese coach when he came to Manchester United to intern under Jose Mourinho earlier in his career.
Record provide comments from the former goalkeeper, who was part of Mourinho’s coaching team during his time in charge at Old Trafford.
That spell saw him encountering Amorim early in his managerial career, with the Portuguese coach completing an internship with the ‘Special One’ before setting out on his own path.
That has been a successful path for him since, with spells at Casa Pia, Braga and Sporting Club de Portugal eventually leading him to Manchester United.
Amorim will officially take charge this week and start work on transforming the squad he inherited from Erik ten Hag.
All eyes will then likely be on the January transfer window, where many are expecting Manchester United to back their new manager with new signings, despite a big spend for Ten Hag in the summer transfer window.
Silvino certainly thinks they’ll need signings and if they give them to Amorim, a title challenge may follow.
“It’s a great joy to see him at Manchester United, for everything he’s done throughout his career,” he said.
“He started at Casa Pia, played for Sp. Braga, Sporting and now Manchester United! I hope he does what he did here At Sporting, he has done very beautiful things.
“I hope the club gives him players, that’s very important. He saw himself at Sporting, where he signed several footballers who made a difference, this shows that he knows what he wants. As the next games progress, he will see what he needs and next season he will attack the title.”
