Chelsea midfielder Denis Zakaria has been accused of not being serious about his career by joining the Blues in the summer.
The midfielder made a last-minute move to Stamford Bridge from Juventus, joining on a sixth-month loan deal as the Blues looked for a short-term replacement for N’Golo Kante.
The move came just seven months after he had joined Juventus, who signed him in the January transfer window earlier this year.
The 25-year-old barely featured for the Italian side, making just 15 appearances for them before his move to Chelsea.
That lack of playing time has continued for the Blues, where he is yet to make a single appearance under Thomas Tuchel or Graham Potter this season.
This week again saw him sat on the bench for the Champions League win over AC Milan, failing to earn a single minute despite a comfortable evening for Chelsea.
It hints that he is not a part of Potter’s plans and analyst Marco Streller can’t understand why the midfielder made the move in the first place.
“We expect players to be personalities. I can’t go to Juve half a year before signing a contract,” Stern report him saying.
“In a situation where they are not in form – and then he changes clubs again on the last transfer day. This career planning simply doesn’t fit.
“He – in top form – and with a good career plan would play there at some point. But in a completely different role.
“You can’t always blame the agent or the club. There, the player himself is also responsible. That’s (the move to Chelsea) not serious! Other teams were also involved, so a lot of things were done wrong.”
