ESPN Brasil produced a very nice story about the Tottenham Hotspur striker Heung-Min Son this week.
Showing how loved the player is in his home country South Korea, they interviewed him asking about all the attention he’s getting from his countrymen and if it puts some pressure into him.
Speaking to reporter João Castelo Branco, Son said: “That’s what I want in life. I really enjoy that. Everyone to watch me, but, sometimes when you are a professional player you need to take it, you need to prove yourself about the situation. Sometimes pressure makes me stronger, I think.”
Asked if he’s happy with his performances, the Tottenham player claimed he’s always trying to improve and his form hasn’t been enough to make him so convinced.
“Can be better, of course. I’m never happy with my performances. Always I want to prove more things. I’m always hungry, I can be better, always, just thinking positive.”
Son also had a say on Saturday’s game against Manchester City: “Of course Man City is very, very strong in this season. I think we go to Manchester but we don’t want to drop some points, we go there but we want to win this game. Of course it’s going to be a difficult game, but we need to believe in ourselves, go there and enjoy the game.
“I think it’s going to be the best game in the Premier League, everyone watching it, everyone expecting a good game, I think it’s going to be really fun. We just play our game and we’ll have a great chance.”
The 25-year-old has eight goals and three assists in 23 appearances this season, playing basically in every possible attacking position.
Son was not the only one from Tottenham speaking to ESPN Brasil lately. Mauricio Pochettino also gave them an interview after the win against Stoke City, and talked about Saturday’s match against Manchester City as well.
