Newcastle United target Serhou Guirassy may have hinted he is about to leave Stuttgart, with a public message to the club’s fans following the win over Borussia Dortmund.
That’s according to BILD, who cover how the striker grabbed a microphone to address Stuttgart fans following the recent win and made comments that sounded like a ‘warm farewell’.
Guirassy was again on the scoresheet in the 2-0 in the in the DFB Cup last 16, putting his side ahead to make it 18 goals in 13 games in all competitions for him this season.
That meant the attention was on him once again and he ensured that remained the case after the game when, as he walked into the dressing room, he grabbed the microphone from stadium announcer Holger Laser and addressed the 54,200 fans in the MHP Arena with ‘very personal words’.
They speculate that might not have been his intention but a transfer in January cannot be completely ruled out, particularly with several sides in the Premier League keen.
Newcastle United are one of the sides to put him on their list, looking to take advantage of the €17.5m clause in his contract that makes him something of a bargain.
For now, Guirassy wants to listen to all the offers in the coming weeks and then decide what he believes is the best option, with staying in Stuttgart not off the table either.
His very public comments are being seen as a potential sign of where his head may lie, though, something Newcastle may want to pay to attention to if their interest is as genuine as has been reported.
