Liverpool have another two weeks to offload Mario Balotelli, but things don’t really look simple. The Italian striker has been linked to several teams, but none of them have really come forward with an offer.
Ajax are said to be interested, but nothing has materialised up to this point. Chievo have also been linked, but the financial terms of the deal are believed to be a stumbling block.
According to Italian website Corriere di Bologna, Serie A side Bologna could also be considering signing Balotelli.
It has been reported Balotelli already had a phone call with Bologna’s chairman, Joey Saputo last summer, but this year it’s said to be the player who is keenest, with his entourage returning the call.
Balotelli, as always, is ready to sign for any interested club, but Bologna expect Liverpool to make a huge financial contribution.
Corriere di Bologna point out that Roberto Donadoni, the Serie A club’s manager, may see something of a challenge with Balotelli, allowing Donadoni to ‘inflate his chest’ should he succeed.
Balotelli still has another couple of years left on his contract at Liverpool, and it remains to be seen if Bologna’s offer will be tempting enough for Liverpool.
