Brendan Rodgers knows perhaps more than any other manager the perils of training at an opposition team’s stadium before a game. In 2014, when Liverpool manager, Rodgers took his team to the Bernabeu and planned a shock selection, putting out a weakened side because he expected to lose anyway.

The problem for Rodgers was it wasn’t such a shock, because Spanish newspaper Marca had someone watch the training session, and the surprise Liverpool team was named perfectly on the morning of the match.

Celtic trained at home on Tuesday, before leaving Glasgow for Germany, and Rodgers’ past experience surely played a role in the Celtic Park session.

German newspaper Bild have named both sides ahead of the match, based on their predictions, and whilst they may not have any leaks with regards to Celtic, they’re confident that Bayern are set for several picks.

Jupp Heynckes wants to end the rotation of Carlo Ancelotti, and therefore Bild believe only Javi Martinez will be different from Bayern’s weekend line-up.

That means Arjen Robben and Thomas Muller will start, with James Rodriguez and Corentin Tolisso missing out.

As for Celtic, Bild are expecting a front three of Leigh Griffiths, Scott Sinclair, and Patrick Roberts.
