Galatasaray are interested signing West Ham United’s Italian defender Angelo Ogbonna, according to Fotomaç.
Ogbonna is one of the players that could be part of a winter clear-out at West Ham, including Turkish winger Gökhan Töre. Fotomaç say Ogbonna’s manager was in Turkey last week to discuss a potential transfer to Galatasaray.
Galatasaray are keen to sign a central defender and they have been linked with Liverpool’s Mamadou Sakho and Spartak Moscow’s Salvatore Bochetti. The Turkish club are now considering their options ahead of the winter transfer window before they look to make a move next month.
Ogbonna’s agent Giovanni Bracchini also represents Inter Milan player Jonathan Biabiany, and the Frenchman has also been offered to Galatasaray as recently reported by Fotomaç.
Signed by West Ham manager Slaven Bilic from Juventus, the former Torino defender has made 50 appearances for the club since his arrival last year. However, like many West Ham players, he’s come in for flak in recent weeks due to their poor performances, and could now be off-loaded in the new year.
West Ham would surely need to bring in a replacement first, and that could be difficult in the January window.
