Aksam claim Besiktas are trying to finalise a deal for Huddersfield Town striker Steve Mounie before the Super Lig transfer window closes next week.

According to the Turkish newspaper, talks between the two sides are going well and Besiktas are trying to lower Huddersfield Town’s demands for the player.

Mounie hasn’t been part of the last two matchday squads for the Championship side and Aksam claim this is a strong indicator the attacker is close to joining the Super Lig club.

Besiktas are reportedly looking to loan the player with an option to buy but the Terriers want to insert a mandatory redemption clause. Subsequently the Istanbul club are looking to discuss this before they look to seal a deal.

The Black Eagles are in need of a striker due to an injury to their current first choice Burak Yilmaz. The Turkey international will only return to action next month.

Mounie still has two years left on his current contract at John Smith’s Stadium but following their relegation to the Championship last season it’s expected he will move on before the European transfer windows close next week.
