The name Anass Zaroury might not mean a lot to Burnley FC fans, but that could change rather quickly if Vincent Kompany gets his way.
That’s according to Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri, who took to Twitter to reveal that the Clarets are trying to sign the Sporting Charleroi starlet.
Capped for Belgium at U21 level, the forward already boasts two goals from five appearances for his club this season, three of which have been starts.
Kompany will have had an eye on him from his time at Anderlecht, and Tavolieri states that ‘talks are ongoing and are advanced’ between the Jupiler Pro League side and Burnley, with the player now ‘close’ to moving to Turf Moor.

What helps the Championship side in this potential signing is that Zaroury ‘wants to play in England’.
No details are provided regarding the nature of the deal for the 21-year-old or how much money Burnley would end up spending, but Tavolieri explains there will be more information on the matter soon.
Zaroury made 39 appearances in all competitions for Charleroi last year, scoring five goals and picking up one assist.
