Despite agreeing a fee with Paris Saint-Germain for Stanley Nsoki, Newcastle United haven’t wrapped up the transfer yet.
Agreeing to pay around €11m for the young defender, Steve Bruce’s new side then started talks with the player himself, which is when the problems started to appear.
According to France Football, as things stand, the contract negotiations between Newcastle and Nsoki are at a standstill because there’s something blocking them.
That appears to be ‘the distance between the role at the club promised (starter) and the wages offered’ by the Premier League side.
France Football do state talks are still ongoing to try and get a deal over the line, but it could take longer than first expected when it was announced the two clubs had reached an agreement.
Lazio and AS Roma are described as ‘attentive’ to what is going, perhaps hoping they can pounce if the deal with Newcastle breaks down.
