Jose Angelino joined Manchester City’s academy from Deportivo La Coruna in 2013, but hasn’t broken through to the Premier League champions’ first team squad.

The youngster has spent time away on loan at New York City FC, Girona, Mallorca and Dutch outfit NAC Breda.

PSV Eindhoven and Ajax were considering making an approach for the 21-year-old in January. However, the deal didn’t take shape and the left-back continued with NAC Breda until the end of the 2017/18 season.

Dutch publication ED reports PSV have maintained their interest in signing Angelino. In the winter transfer window, the defender would have cost them around €10m, which was not accepted by PSV.

The Eredivisie outfit have already “opened talks” with Pep Guardiola’s side regarding Angelino, with a view to signing him this summer. The player is also willing to leave Manchester City on a permanent transfer as he set his sights on joining PSV over Ajax.

PSV are also interested in signing SC Heerenveen right-back Denzel Dumfries. They are ready to pay a fee of around €4 to €4.5 million for the defender.

PSV are hoping a similar fee would be sufficient for them to convince City to sanction Angelino’s sale. That’s being optimistic.
