There’s a claim in the Turkish media that Besiktas haven’t given up their pursuit to sign Rangers defender Rıdvan Yilmaz.

There have been reports in recent weeks that Rangers could offload the Turkey international despite Philippe Clement starting him in the past six league games.

Ajanspor have reported on the latest developments regarding Besiktas interest in the Rangers player and they say the Istanbul club are continuing to work on a deal for the 23-year-old.

Besiktas are reportedly in the market for a left back as they look to offload Arthur Masuaku, and their former youth player is seen as the ideal candidate.

The Super Lig side have reportedly come in with an offer, but the Scottish media claim this was rejected by the Rangers hierarchy.

Another factor is whether recently installed Besiktas manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær will be interested in signing the Turkey international.

Yilmaz has made ten appearances for Rangers this season and is contracted to the Scottish club until June 2027.
