AC Milan held talks with Chelsea striker Armando Broja’s entourage today over a possible move to the Italian club next summer.
That’s according to Calciomercato, who say that it was ‘a market afternoon’ at Casa Milan as they plan for the upcoming windows.
According to their information, Milan directors Frederic Massara and Paolo Maldini met with intermediary Cheikh Fall, who is very close to the entourage around Broja, to discuss a potential move for the striker.
Milan are targeting a new number nine for next year as Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Olivier Giroud will be one year older and neither Divock Origi nor Ante Rebic have impressed.
They were interested in Broja in the summer and held talks about a potential move, but the 21-year-old ended up staying at Chelsea after their own failure to sign a striker before the late arrival of Pierre Emerick Aubameyang.
However, he remains a target for Milan as his profile is one that ‘fits perfectly’ within their football philosophy and there is a feeling he can solve the goal problem they have ‘once and for all’.
This latest meeting was the second following one last week, which was also attended by former Rossoneri Christian Zaccardo, another market intermediary and ‘the talks continue’ to try and make a deal happen.
That will depend on Chelsea’s willingness, of course, but with Broja only a bit part player under Graham Potter so far, Milan seem to think they’ve got a chance and are planning accordingly.
