Everton are in talks with Napoli over a move for midfielder Allan, with the Serie A side looking for between €40-50m for his signature.
The Brazilian midfielder has been heavily linked with a move away for several months, after falling out of favour under Gennaro Gattuso.
That has only helped to further eradicate his relationship with Napoli, which has slowly deteriorated since a failed move to Paris Saint Germain last summer.
Everton are the club who have been most linked with making a move, with rumours throughout the January transfer window about a possible move.
Those rumours have continued since then, with Everton on the hunt for a midfielder and Allan believed to be a target for manager Carlo Ancelotti after they worked together at Napoli.
There have been numerous reports about a bid to sign him and how much a move may cost should it happen.
Italian journalist Ciro Venerato has now provided an update on that, confirming Everton’s interest in him.
“Allan will be sold, there are talks with Ancelotti and Berta, sports director of Atletico Madrid,” he told TV Luna, relayed by Tutto Napoli.
“Napoli shoots €50m so that they can get €40m; we are at the beginning to replace him.
“Napoli evaluates Szoboszlai, Veretout – Giuntoli’s idea for two years – and Ricci, who many Italian and German clubs like.”
