Arsenal’s longstanding interest in Alexandre Lacazette is no secret. The Lyon striker has been linked with a move to the Emirates over the past few transfer windows, and will be until he finally leaves.
L’Equipe believe Atletico Madrid are the keenest right now, with the Spanish club already making moves for a summer signing. But they’re not the only interested ones.
Arsenal are said to be attentive to the situation, and, given they’ve already held talks with Lyon and Lacazette’s representatives about a transfer, making an approach wouldn’t be too difficult.
However, doubts over Arsene Wenger’s future are seen as a barrier to a potential move. That Wenger’s future is still ‘pending’ prevents any ‘concrete’ move from the Premier League club, as far as the French newspaper is concerned.
Wenger will insist the uncertainty over his future isn’t causing any problems, but he’s almost certainly wrong. Just that it’s perceived to be a problem around Europe, could actually make it a genuine problem, especially when it comes to recruiting the most in demand players.
Lyon are said to be ‘hoping for’ €60m to sell their striker.
