Genclerbirligi president Murat Cavcav has confirmed the Super Lig club are in transfer talks with Burnley goalkeeper Joe Hart.
Earlier today we covered reports from Turkey that the Ankara side are interested in signing the former Manchester City player.
Speaking to Ajansspor, Cavcav said that they are interested in Joe Hart, however he also stated that they have other targets: “We are looking to sign a goalkeeper in this transfer window. And yes, it’s true that we are talking with Hart. But we also have other options. We will decide in the near future.”
Genclerbirligi used two different goalkeepers in the first half of the season but it seems their manager Hamza Hamzaoglu is looking to sign an undisputed goalkeeper; a role Hart could fill for the Turkish side.
They are currently in 13th position in the Super Lig table and they face another relegation battle, so subsequently they want to strengthen in this transfer window.
The 32 year old has made just two appearances for Sean Dyche’s side in this campaign which came in the cup competitions. He’s spent most of the time on the bench as back up to Nick Pope and will need to move on to get regular first team football.
