Real Madrid star Luka Modric has labelled Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Harry Winks a very talented footballer.

Winks impressed during Tottenham’s away trip to Madrid earlier this season, and his performance in the Spanish capital didn’t go unnoticed by the Croatian international.

In an interview with FourFourTwo, Modric was asked about Winks, after coming up against him in the Champions League: “Harry is a very talented and quality footballer. He showed against Real Madrid how good he can become.

“I hope he can continue to evolve in the right way, and if that happens I believe he’s got a very successful career ahead of him.”

Winks made his debut for Tottenham in 2014, but this season has seen the 22 year old push on.

The midfielder was an alternative to Moussa Dembele at the start of the season, and he’s been a regular in the Champions League.

However, an ankle injury has kept Winks out of Tottenham’s last three Premier League games, and with Dembele impressing in the 2-0 victory over Manchester United, he’ll find it difficult to force his way back into the team.
