Erik Sviatchenko only joined Celtic just over a year ago from Danish side FC Midtjylland. The move has worked out well for all involved and Danish newspaper BT say the defender has passed the test with flying colours.

Whilst the 25 year old is very happy with life at Celtic, and showed no signs of pushing for a transfer in January, BT explain there are still Premier League dreams present for Sviatchenko.

BT ask Sviatchenko why he hasn’t already moved on from Celtic, to which he replied: “It’s part of being a footballer, that when you make it good, so you attract interest. It can be said sometimes it becomes more than interest. But it takes two to tango.”

The newspaper say the player has told them Celtic have rejected offers from some of the bigger Premier League clubs.

It confirms to me that I am on a good team and that I have done well. But I’m happy where I am, so I’m in no hurry.”

Celtic don’t have any immediate worries about Sviatchenko pushing his way out, but if several Premier League clubs come in during the summer then it may be hard to hold them all off.
