Nottingham Forest are closing in on a deal for Napoli forward Nicolao Dumitru, according to claims in Italy. Earlier today we covered reports that the Championship side were interested in the 24-year-old, but face competition to sign the player.
TMW have reported on claims via Sky Italia that Dumitru is set to have a medical with Nottingham Forest ahead of his proposed move to England. Nottingham Forest have come to an agreement with Napoli to take the striker on loan, and once he’s completed his medical he will sign for the club before Wednesday’s deadline.
The English side faced competition from Italian side Spezia to sign the Sweden born forward, but a deal now looks close.
Dumitru came through the Empoli youth system, and after making the breakthrough to their senior team he was transferred to Napoli in 2010.
The forward has played nine league games for Napoli, and has spent most of his time out on loan with a number of Italian clubs, including Ternana, Reggina and Latina.
