Yesterday we brought you an update on the future of Borja Baston and a potential move from Swansea City back to Spain.

The striker returned to the Liberty Stadium this summer after a loan spell at Alaves last year and even scored in the opening day win over Hull City.

However, he remains a player that could leave at some point and Heraldo were reporting that he had been offered to Huesca earlier in the transfer window.

They are still on the hunt, and the suggestion was that Bastón might be one they look at before the deadline at the end of the month.

Should they decide to do so, it appears they will face competition from Rayo Vallecano.

El Gol Digital report that the La Liga2 side are keen on the striker as they look to reinforce their squad for a promotion push this coming season.

The club’s management want a big-name signing to get fans ‘excited’ and Bastón would represent that for them. They are willing to ‘bet’ on him as the man to help them secure promotion.

They’re keen on a loan deal for the Swansea City striker, but his high wages are a problem for them, so they need to sell Alex Moreno to Real Betis to fund the move.

Bastón is keen on the move too, with it explained that he doesn’t want to stay in Wales but hasn’t received any offers from La Liga sides, and so Rayo Vallecano is the ‘most desirable’ move for him.
