Swansea City are keen on signing former Chelsea winger Gael Kakuta in January, reports L’Equipe.

The Frenchman currently plays for Chinese Super League side Hebei China Fortune, who he joined in a €5m deal from Sevilla almost a year ago.

It’s been reported Ligue 1 club AS Saint-Étienne and La Liga’s Deportivo La Coruna are also keen on the 25-year-old. However, Swansea City and Deportivo La Coruna have already made loan proposals for Kakuta, and have offered higher wages than AS Saint-Étienne.

Of course, it’s unlikely any of the offers will match Kakuta’s Chinese wages.

Swansea are currently at the bottom of the Premier League, and must utilise the transfer window to make the right signings. Kakuta has made 24 appearances in the Chinese Super League scoring 2 goals and also has 3 assists to his name.

Paul Clement knows the club needs a big turnaround and Kakuta would surely be something of a gamble for Swansea City.
