The Spanish press doesn’t make good reading for Swansea City on Monday.
Firstly, there’s Marca who report Nico Gaitan isn’t keen on a move to the Premier League club and has other preferences for an Atletico Madrid exit.
Moving to another Spanish newspaper, AS, but staying with Atletico and the theme of bad transfer news for Swansea City, Kevin Gameiro is also said to be out of reach.
AS report Atletico Madrid’s €30m asking price has driven clubs away, with Swansea City and Besiktas named. Atletico aren’t as desperate to get rid of Gameiro as they are with Gaitan, and that means they won’t bend too much to suit other clubs.
Diego Costa only ever seems a few weeks away from a hamstring injury, and is currently out with just that, and having loaned Luciano Vietto to Valencia for the rest of the season, it wouldn’t be such a bad idea if Gameiro stayed around.
That leads to the €30m asking price, and AS say it’s why Swansea City are walking away from the potential deal.
