Swansea City’s victory over Liverpool on Saturday was such an entertaining match and a great advert for the Premier League. Looking like hopeless relegation fodder, Swansea travelled to Anfield with few thinking they’d come away with anything other than a battering.

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are adept at smelling blood and the match looked like a car crash waiting to happen. However, Fernando Llorente and his Swansea City teammates weren’t intimidated and, after keeping Liverpool quiet for the first half, Llorente fired the Swans into the lead on the 48th minute.

Swansea, again, weren’t playing to the form book and a winner from Gylfi Sigurdsson lifted the club off the bottom of the Premier League.

The match caught the eye of Gazzetta dello Sport and the Italian newspaper have named Llorente in their European Team of the Week. Not only that, Llorente was rated higher than any other player in Europe, judged to have played better than the other strikers in Gazzetta’s team, Edinson Cavani and Robert Lewandowski.
