Swansea City are said to be in the list of clubs who are keen on signing the Inter Milan defender Andrea Ranocchia. According to Corriere Dello Sport today, the Premier League club have shown their interest alongside Palermo and Sassuolo.
The newspaper doesn’t really give many details about the chase, as the article is mainly an update on Inter Milan’s squad situation, saying who could stay or leave the club in the January window.
Ranocchia has gone past his best days at Inter, having made only 9 appearances for the Serie A side this season. He’s been spending most of the time on the bench, as the club have been using Miranda and Jeison Murillo as the starter duo.
Considering that the player spent the end of the last season at Sampdoria, it’s obvious that Inter aren’t really concerned on keeping the 28-year-old in their squad for much more time, and his contract expires in 2018.
Swansea City will likely be looking to recruit during the January transfer window, wanting to back new manager Paul Clement in a battle against relegation.
Whilst Ranocchia may well be possible for Swansea, the interest could be more from the Italian side rather than from Clement and his staff.
