BeinSportsTr report Swansea City’s Bafetimbi Gomis has been offered to Medipol Basaksehir as a part of an exchange deal for the Turkish club’s striker Emmanuel Adebayor.
According to TV channel, Swansea officials have made the proposal to Basaksehir president Goksel Gumusdag, and they offered Gomis plus €3m for Adebayor. Basaksehir initially rejected the offer as their manager Abdullah Avcı believes Gomis’ wages could be a problem within his squad.
However, Basaksehir have now made a counter offer to Swansea City, and they are demanding Gomis plus a fee of €5.5m for the former Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal forward. Adebayor is thought to be happy in Istanbul, but returning to the Premier League could be an option for the 33 year old Togo international.
BeinSportsTR say Swansea City officials are now considering Basaksehir’s offer, and they will inform the Turkish club of their decision in the coming weeks.
It all sounds too soap opera to be true. Perhaps Swansea are trying to urge other Turkish clubs interested in Gomis to put together a better package.
