OGC Nice are ‘very interested’ in signing Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Rayan Aït-Nouri, as per Foot Mercato.

The Premier League side parted ways with Bruno Lage in October and took more than a month to appoint Julen Lopetegui as his successor.

It’s claimed Aït-Nouri has suffered the most after the Spaniard’s arrival and the goal scored after coming off the bench in his side’s EFL Cup win over Gillingham will not reverse the situation.

Another reason for the left-back’s situation is that the West Midlands club are looking to bring in a new player in the same position. Sevilla’s Marcos Acuña, who played under Lopetegui at the La Liga side, has been identified as the target.

Due to these factors, the 21-year-old’s exit is seen as the ‘best solution’ for all parties involved. The defender, for his part, is also ‘ready to leave’ Wolves and the Ligue 1 side have come forward to secure his services.

Fulham’s Joe Bryan is currently on loan at Nice, but they are ready to send him back to the London club in order to make room for Aït-Nouri.

However, the conditions needed to carry out the surprise deal for the Wolves player is not known.

Foot Mercato explain Nice have the finances, while the English club should not block Aït-Nouri’s exit.
