It looks like things may have turned around in Tottenham’s chase for the Roma striker Antonio Sanabria. Spurs have reportedly outbid Betis and are now leading the race for the Paraguayan.
According to ABC De Sevilla, Tottenham have made a €15m offer for the player, an amount which Betis know they can’t match.
Now the Spanish side would be trusting their manager Gustavo Poyet to convince Sanabria. They believe he could do that by telling the player he will get much more playing minutes for his team.
But of course, Roma are not worried about where their former 20 year-old will have more game time, so Tottenham’s offer would give Spurs the advantage anyway. If it exists.
This week, Sport had already claimed that Sanabria chose Betis after talking to Poyet, and they said Tottenham even cancelled a trip to talk to the player.
But if the latest news is true (and on Sanabria stories it’s a very big IF), Spurs are back in the race, and this time, very close to winning it.
